I bought this essentially on a whim, and at first didn't quite know what to do with it, as I wasn't a "belt person". So there it sat, in its bag, in a drawer, for a good six months.
And then...
On a day like any other, I found myself in need of a belt. One that would convince the top I was wearing that day to do what I wanted, and add some definition to my waist. That's when I remembered my Brown Rider Belt, safely tucked away in its drawer. Was this the answer? Crossing fingers and toes, I retrieved the QTL bag. Uncrossing them (as it's rather difficult to pick things up with crossed fingers), I gently pulled it out and tried it on.
I checked my reflection with the addition of the belt. Angels probably sang somewhere, but I couldn't hear them over the sound of my own excitement. The Rider Belt had not only added definition to my waist; it had also pulled in nearby awkward bits!
WHERE HAD THIS BELT BEEN ALL MY LIFE? And WHY had I ever thought I wasn't a belt person?
Over the following months, I've become increasingly convinced that this belt can do ANYTHING. It's so effortlessly versatile that it is the perfect addition to my minimalist wardrobe.
In hot weather, I add it to dresses; in cold weather, shirts. During the rest of the year, I layer it over sleeveless tunics and short sleeve tees.
For casual outings, like the beach or coffee, I pair it with thongs or runners. For more formal events, like dinner or a night out, I jazz it up with heels or boots (including Queen of Thieves - which pairs beautifully with either colour of Rider Belt).
If you are asking yourself "Should I buy this?" the answer is YES. Just YES. YESTERDAY is also acceptable.
